Counseling for Children and Families
"I love kids. They're short, highly emotional people who don't know anything. They rely on their creativity and imagination to get by in the world. A world, I might add, filled with giants. Amazing feat." - Arlen Faber The Answer Man
Children are amazing, creative, and incredible beings. However, they think act and feel very differently than adults. They are still developing the emotional intelligence that we adults take for granted. I have spent most of my career working with children and families — particularly children affected by family issues, school difficulties, or trauma. Depression and anxiety can present differently in children, and finding a therapist who can work not only with a distressed child but with the whole family is essential.
Having worked as a school social worker, I also have a wide range of experiences to draw on when working in tandem with school districts to help children achieve their goals in school systems.
